ASUS Hero VI x370 featuring 3700x or 3800X

I'm considering upgrading my CPU and would appreciate your thoughts. Have others with a Asus Hero VI running 3700X or 3800X experienced any issues? My current configuration includes the latest BIOS, Ryzen 1700 at stock speeds, 2x8 Trident Z DDR4 at 3200 XMP Kraken x52, ASUS 2080 Super Advanced, Samsung EVO 500GB M.2, and a 650W HDD with Seasonic Ultra Platinum. Potential concerns are: 1) I don’t plan to overclock, but I’d like feedback from people using the same setup. 2) If I switch to a 3800X, will my PSU handle it given its 105W TDP?

Yeah the PSU will be enough, you can actually run a 3950X on a 450W PSU with an RTX 2080 ti: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wg6pz7YTxyA&t=1s Im not saying its recommended, but you can. So I think you will be safe with a 650W PSU ^^

I own the x370 Crosshair VI Hero with the 3700x and experience using it without problems. Previously, I had an 1800x version.

This will prompt reflection, though on non-manual OCR it won’t exceed the same performance as a dedicated CPU-Z score I previously achieved. Could this indicate a decline? Not sure.

It looks like you're considering a price drop for the 3800X on Amazon.co.uk. Typically, it's priced around 400GPB, so this deal is quite attractive. You mentioned looking into upgrading your CPU without the MBO extension—please share your BIOS version so I can check for any known issues or compatibility notes. Also, let me know if you have any specific concerns about running the latest BIOS.

the last entry is 7704 on crosshair VI hero sadly paid full price at 430$ca with no taxes for the 3700x. i believe it's a good cpu, though it has many settings to adjust.

Great choice, that's exactly what I'm considering right now. Alright, I'll go for the 3800X—it really looks appealing and pairs nicely with my 2080 Super.
