ASUS has removed support for the first-gen Ryzen processors on the X570 platform.
I need some assistance. I installed a Ryzen 1700X system 2-3 years ago using a B350 MSI board. I've been purchasing components to upgrade to the third generation, like the ASUS Prime X570 Pro. It originally supported the 1700X and we've been running it for months. (At least until I got the 3950X) Yesterday I updated the BIOS, it reported success but after rebooting it didn't boot at all—just a black screen. All RGB lights came on, and the small LED on the motherboard was red, which usually indicates a CPU problem. I changed the RAM, but eventually I reinstalled the B350 and everything worked fine. (I still had it installed) Why would support be removed like that? Any advice on rolling back the BIOS would be appreciated. Thank you.
The CPU isn't listed as supported for that board in the catalog.
The issue involves the 128MB BIOS chip, which has limited space for many CPUs. Users expressed concerns about AMD releasing updated chips on a new chipset. AMD responded by making adjustments to enable newer chips while accepting reduced backward compatibility.
Hey, in my country, we are having a massive sale on ryzen 1700. However, I want to keep my system as upgradable as possible, so I am planning to buy a X570 motherboard with it, so that I could upgrade the cpu later on. So I am curious about how was your experience with Ryzen 1700X on your motherboard. This is my first build and I am new to this community as well. So, please consider me as your small brother and please please please reply. Your help will be more than appreciated . Also, sorry that I can't give the answer to your problem, but atleast now I know that I should not update the motherboard bios.
