my friend's asus gundam pc is having issues with crashes. the stock 850 watt psu wasn't enough, so they replaced it with a new 1000 watt evga model. they checked if an updated bios was needed and found an update available. after installing it and restarting, the system still crashed. they tried checking for updates and mentioned the asus armoury crate had one. they thought maybe the issue was related to overcurrent protection. they also considered that all components might need inspection. they bought a new ram stick and plugs from newegg, warning them it could be unsafe but they wanted to try fixing it.

The Asus armory crate may have refreshed the BIOS or simply updated its software. You might have attempted to run the system with reduced RAM, tried Windows in safe mode, and the mods are handling the update for you.

I've tried reinstalling the graphics drivers. Also, I just reviewed your message again—why did you keep making so many spelling mistakes?

ASUS recommended using AI Suite 3 for the BIOS. There are four drives totaling 64 GB, but we haven’t tried Safe Mode. We didn’t update the GPU driver since we confirmed it should have been 512.77.

Consider using safe mode first, then reinstall any drivers you recall. Drivereasy is suggested because it identifies and updates all your drivers effectively.

Let’s discuss your options. If you’re running low on RAM and the system feels shaky, there could be an issue. It’s best to check one at a time for clarity. Should you spot something that seems faulty, you can run the Windows memory diagnostic to test it further.

You started with an Open Box item from Newegg, but they seem unreliable—there’s a chance it had a driver problem. A clean Windows installation might resolve the issue. Also, double-check that all connections are secure and that your BIOS/UEFI is up to date.

It was too late to mention Newegg; they had already reinstalled Windows, updated the BIOS, and the drivers were refreshed. Now they can enter the map and move around briefly before it crashes instead of freezing at the menu.
