Hey, I'm interested in understanding how the Asus GTX 1070 Turbo overclock stacks up against other versions. Could you share some specific figures?

It's really bad, sounds like a jet engine and thermal throttling, and that's at stock levels. OCing isn't an option. Try a reliable aftermarket fan; 1080s are priced similarly to 1070s these days, making it a more sensible pick.

Thank you for your reply. I already have that one. Would the Asus 1070 expedition have been a better option (I didn’t choose it because it was more expensive...)? I’ve noticed someone managed to achieve around +200 clock and about 300 memory on the Turbo version—did they simply get a good card or not?
EDIT: wait.. thermal throttles at stock settings? That sounds pretty bad.
🙁
Where did you come across this information?

Reviews, personal trial in the store and hearing that annoying noise increase to real 'turbo' speeds above 80c. Can I get it back? If not, you'll have to accept it, possibly need to adjust the fan settings slightly, and definitely no overclocking.

Also (I've shared this before), how does this card stack up against the Turbo? PALIT GeForce® GTX 1070 DUAL? Is it possible to push it further with overclocking?

For optimal performance, consider using the STRIX version as it offers superior cooling.

Thank you, but it's challenging to secure a fresh option at the moment. The installation appears quite costly in Romania. I've discovered something around $800, while the upgrade itself was about $500.

That's acceptable, it remains around a 1070 performance.

The GTX 1070 can be overclocked to higher temperatures with improved cooling. Core voltages typically reach around 1.8V to 1.9V, while memory speeds can be pushed up to 3200-3600 MHz depending on the setup.

2GHz is a good OC with a 1070.
