I recently switched from an ASUS x470 to the Crosshair VIII hero (WIFI) and upgraded the CPU to the Ryzen 9 3900x. Previously, my setup included two M.2 drives and a 6TB HDD. After moving everything onto the new motherboard, everything functions except the SATA drive isn’t being recognized. I tested various ports and changed the SATA cable, but nothing resolved the issue. The drive works fine in an external enclosure. On the BIOS, SATA is set to AHCI mode. I’m hoping for a simple solution—this is my second build, so I might have missed something. Can I verify if the SATA ports are operating correctly?

Experiencing identical issues on my Asus x570 crosshair viii hero (non-WiFi). Tested various SATA ports and cables, including different power connections. No detection in BIOS or Windows. The 3800x paired with Corsair MP600 1TB NVMe SSD; the drive spins up correctly in my external dock but not when plugged into SATA ports.

Changed the bios to version 1105, now displaying the 8TB drive instead of NVMe.

I haven't received the board yet. Would you like to know what happens if you revert to a previous BIOS release?
