I recently assembled a system based on someone else's setup and before he sold it, he removed all updates and settings for security. I replaced the hard drive, installed Windows 11, and started using it, but it runs slow and choppy. I updated all Windows and NVIDIA drivers, yet performance remains poor. The BIOS is outdated since 2019, so I downloaded an update from the ASUS website via USB. After restarting through ASUS tools, the BIOS reported progress, but when I returned, my PC only displayed a black screen. I waited a few more minutes before forcing a hard restart. Now it only shows fans, RGB lighting, and full-power noise, with no display at all. I considered replacing the CMOS battery, but that didn’t help, so I unplugged and plugged it back in. I’m really stuck—please help!

Did you hear any sounds? Connected the monitor to the GPU, not the motherboards, after reconnecting? Did you try repositioning the RAM?

checked all connections carefully, no beeps. Swapped the motherboard with an Intel one that worked perfectly. Likely bricked it because during updates it reset multiple times, possibly interrupting the process.

Recover the bios by connecting the board with its accompanying system disk. Disconnect all drives except the DVD ROM drive. The system will boot using a recovery bios on the disk, allowing you to install the original factory bios via the included recovery method. Good luck and enjoy!
