Thanks for the clear guidance! The system rebooted but the CPU remains underpowered and there’s no progress. It’s an older machine—perhaps it simply stopped working completely. - Matt

It seems the processor was indicating problems before you adjusted the voltage, which made it function but eventually led to its decline over time.

I didn’t undervolt the CPU because I was experiencing problems. I did it to reduce power use and heat. Man. What should I do? FX processors are still selling for over $100. Everyone criticized them back then, and I bought this one in 2014 for $150–160 new.

It seems you're questioning the value of the high price tag. You feel it's mainly for show now, especially with your existing FX-8350 and ASUS Crosshair V motherboard. It’s more about what people might ask you about achieving 5.1GHz+ on that board. If you can sell the board and RAM, consider upgrading to a Ryzen or Intel processor from the latest series. That would require replacing the CPU, motherboard, and RAM, but it could be worth it in the long run. It’s a big decision, but you’re right—it’s time for a proper upgrade.

It's just my work machine... Running at 7600k on my main gaming setup. The graphics card is the oldest component. I'm currently using an ASUS 970 and tackling some older games, so upgrading isn't urgent. I'll stick with this PC until it makes sense to move things over. Appreciate the support. - Matt

Used an old AMD FX 6300 at a low cost and tried it out today. Nothing to do. Moving on to a fresh PSU...

You have a fresh PSU but nothing seems to work. Checked it on both CPUs. The motherboard appears damaged. Sad to say, it’s over.
