ASUS A68HM K overclockable?
ASUS A68HM K overclockable?
i got this mobo and checked the bios to try overclocking, but it didn’t show up. i also used amd overdrive, but after restarting the pc it went back to the stock 3.70 ghz. i have an x4 860k, but i’m not sure what to do next.
I don't personally use AMD chips, so I won't be very helpful. It would likely appear in the advanced BIOS section and possibly under a tweaker option.
In simple terms, if you purchase a motherboard from any seller and it’s affordable, around £40 or less, the main limits are usually the BIOS features, which affect how much you can speed up your CPU.
If the board costs £100 or more, you generally have many overclocking possibilities in the BIOS.
This includes CPU voltage adjustments, memory types, and the chipset inside the motherboard.
Using quality parts and stable components helps achieve better and more reliable overclocking.
These settings work with both ATX and Micro ATX boards.
The higher the price, the more options and better performance you get in the BIOS for overclocking.
It also depends on the specific chipset the board uses, which influences how much you can customize in your settings.
I always recommend Asus boards for solid performance, and if you go for higher-end models, they tend to be dependable.
With a solid chipset and strong overclocking capabilities in the BIOS, you’re set.
I couldn<|pad|> a lot in RAM settings on the AI Tweaker for your motherboard, and I’m unsure what to do since it doesn’t change when I run Overdrive or restart.
I have the same MOBO and also can't locate the Manual mode for overclocking. When I go to the AI tweeker tab and then the AI Overclock tuner, it doesn't show an option for "manual". I'm using AMD Overdrive and it appears to function correctly, so I click Preferences, Settings and make sure the box " Apply my last settings when system boots" is checked.
