hey guys i made a pc about three years ago. now it's not running as fast as it should. i need to overclock the processor, but i'm stuck with an asus p9x79 and an i7 3820 that's locked. i just want it to run around 4.3 or 4.4 ghz. any advice?

i watched this video and followed his steps, but i didn't change his voltage settings. he uses 1.4 for the vcore, i use 1.35. the pc won't start without me pressing the mem ok light on the mobo.

system
asus p9x79 le
i7 3820
corsair ddr3 1600 ram 8 8 8 24 4x4gb
nvidia 980ti

if you're watching a tutorial and he mentioned to run at 1.4v, then yes, you should run at 1.4v.
if you're unsure whether your CPU is handling it properly, there might be issues if you're not powering it correctly.

if you're watching a tutorial and he mentioned to run at 1.4v then ...run at 1.4v?
i'll just leave it like that since there might be several factors considered for adjustment. but 1.4v is indeed 1.4 times the speed.
if you're underpowering your CPU or facing performance issues, it could lead to problems.
