Astro A50 Gen3 stops working and disconnects when the roommate experiences a ping spike.
Alright so i recently picked up an astro A50 Gen3, i noticed occasionally the headset audio will crackle, or cut out for a few seconds at what seems to be random. I was playing games with my roommate and every time my headset had the crackle/cutout issue his ping would spike. i've tried resetting the headset, router, and i cant seem to figure out what is causing this. it also seems like when there is no one/little to no wifi being used the headset rarely cuts out. Any advice would be helpful thank you.
There could be a conflict between the 5GHz headset and the Wi-Fi due to overlapping frequencies. Consider switching to 2.4GHz or restricting the 5GHz range of the Wi-Fi, or using wired Ethernet instead. A firmware update for the headset and router might also resolve the issue. Using a Bluetooth-enabled headset could be another solution.
