I have an MSI x570 gaming plus with an R7 3700X and four 8GB Trident Z 3600 CL15 drives. According to user benchmarks (which I understand can be questionable), my performance is showing 3600 FPS in the task manager and on those results. My GPU is also causing issues—previously it gave me smooth 700fps with an RX 580, but now it drops to around 300fps. I’m not sure if that’s due to the game settings or something inherent to the hardware. Additionally, I’ve noticed strange coil whine noises when running benchmarks on the RTX 2070 Super. You understand that using benchmarks can be questionable, yet you still depend on them for insights.
Have you checked the temperature and performance during gameplay? A 300fps frame rate doesn’t seem to cause any issues.
I use their percentage estimate at the beginning with a lot of caution, but checking the percentile among users gives a general idea. The temperatures stay steady around 55°C throughout my session. They could rise to about 60°C after a while, but I’m impressed by how consistent the GPU temps remain.
Check HWiNFO64 for details in the relevant line and note what @Slottr mentions about the BIOS version.
That gives you a clearer idea now. The RAM functions properly based on what I can observe, though I wasn’t certain adjusting the clock would make a difference because it was set to auto. Since this RAM isn’t officially supported, I won’t worry about it until it starts causing issues—like the strange error I saw on old benchmarks.
They seem to base the score on RAM plus GPU power. When I first set up the system, I used a specific GSKILL Aegis 3000 rig with only one power cable connected. That caused poor performance. After fixing the power setup, the results improved on UserBenchmark. I changed the RAM and ran another test, but got an even worse score than before. I plan to check the RX580 next and see if it also scores very low. I suspect the benchmarks might not be accurate. People like @Slottr are right—don’t rely on them. I’ll update after testing the RX580 on Tuesday or Wednesday.
