Hey! I see you're having some issues with your dualboot setup. It sounds like the system is stuck in a boot loop. Have you checked if the Windows installation is properly recognized? Also, make sure your recovery mode tools are correctly installed and that LightDM isn't interfering. If everything seems fine there, try booting into Safe Mode with Networking to see if the problem persists. Let me know what you find!

This update is confirmed. Here are the specifications of your laptop: lightdm is a display manager, often used as the login screen, and also handles additional tasks. It was replaced by gdm starting from Ubuntu 17.10, so it shouldn't be installed in 18.04. No concerns needed.

The quote should be corrected as follows: "Updating isn't stupid... Does your laptop have NVIDIA or AMD graphics? Have you made any changes to it? Usually, it displays the Ubuntu logo..."

Sure, I can wait for the boot process and check if it brings you to the GRUB menu. From there, you can open a terminal to set up lightdm or any other configuration you require.

Additionally, it displays the Ubuntu icon and then proceeds to the startup animation. Typically, after that, it returns to the Ubuntu logo and allows you to log in.

Sure, just share the error screen and any startup messages. I'll help you troubleshoot.
