Assistance with steam trading.
So, I have moved to another steam account but now my acc is 30 days old I want to get all my inventory from my old acc. I only have 1 PC in my household, I've sent my new account a trade offer but I keep getting an eroor that says something like ( There was an error accepting this trade offer. Please try again later. (25)). I have been trying to get it to go through so I can have my stuff. P.s. steam says there is a holding period of 72 hours for my new account to get its stuff, could this be the problem?
I'm not a specialist, but Steam now asks for a mobile authenticator to avoid trade holds. They seem to be aiming to safeguard users and are frustrated with the many support requests about lost items. Two-factor authentication is required for Steam trades—your computer must accept the trade, then you confirm it on your mobile device. You need your mobile linked to your account for seven days. Since you have one PC and two accounts, the idea would be to connect your smartphone to the new account as a mobile authenticator, download the Steam Desktop Authenticator, and link it to the old account (your choice). As long as both are connected after seven days, you can start trades from the old account using your PC and complete them with your smartphone, then confirm on your desktop authenticator. This approach should work according to what I understand, though I’m not an expert. TL;DR – Steam’s new security steps require a mobile authenticator; read the full guide for details.
I recall those days when steam was affordable and lacked poor security features.
The trade works only when the receiving account gets nothing back. It might also trigger without a mobile authenticator, though I’m not entirely sure.
