Assistance with PiCore available. Let me know how I can help!
I've been using a Raspberry Pi for some time now. Today I decided to boot it up. I didn’t find an SD card bigger than a GB, so I installed Tiny Core Linux /Picore after looking around. It worked and I reached the desktop. However, I’m completely new to Linux or software in general—I’m a total beginner with hardware and some programming experience (I know Python but not much else). I have no idea what I can actually do. I can install apps, but they seem mostly as plugins. Can you help me understand what I can accomplish? I’ve used the Linux terminal and Python before, though I don’t recall much.
I’d really aim for a minimum of an 8GB micro SD card—it makes a big difference. I’ve been using my Pi for a while now, and you can achieve a lot with it. In my view, just go with Linux and explore the projects available. You’re good with hardware; connect various devices to the Pi to expand its capabilities. This might not be the solution you were seeking, but if you didn’t buy the Pi for a particular reason and are using it for personal projects, definitely learn the command line. Most people prefer the GUI, but the command line is where real power lies.
