In short, I got a new monitor—Samsung Odyssey G6 (240Hz, 1440p, 27 inches). I also have an Asus VG27VQM (27 inches, 1080p, 240Hz). I’m using the Odyssey as the main and Asus as a backup. The PC keeps booting from the secondary monitor, which is fine. Monitor IDs match: Odyssey is 1, Asus is 2 in both Nvidia and Display settings. Cables look good on the GPU side. DisplayPort1 is on Samsung, DisplayPort2 on Asus—everything seems to work. Still not sure what’s going on.
You can switch your secondary display to act as the main screen in most contemporary operating systems. What I’m really curious about is whether you’re referring to Windows directly, or the startup and boot-up menus.
Windows is fine as I mentioned, everything functions properly. Odyssey is recognized as version 1 and set as primary. Asus is number 2, there are no issues with Windows at all. I was using a dual-monitor configuration before upgrading to 1440p, and it worked well even with dual 1080p setups. I used Asus as the primary and Zowie (which I sold) as secondary. The BIOS is booting normally on Asus, but now it boots from Asus when it's secondary—that’s my problem xD.
I also attempted a single-monitor configuration. Everything functions properly in that setup. The BIOS screen appears correctly on the Odyssey without any issues. However, things become problematic when dual monitors are active.
Attempted all simple solutions, changed GPU connections, used various DisplayPort cables, but nothing fixed the issue. The PC continues to boot using BIOS on the secondary screen while everything related to Windows functions properly on the Odyssey.
