Hey, I see the issue with your TrueNAS Scale. It seems like the HDDs aren't being recognized properly, which is a concern since you have a large music collection. Your BIOS can read the drives, but both your TrueNAS system and the Ubuntu live USB aren't picking them up. It worked for a couple of months until October 20th. You have a mix of drives—four 4TB HDDs, one 500GB HDD, five 128GB SSDs, and one 16GB USB drive. I’m not sure if there’s a limit on how many drives the live USB can detect, but it’s unlikely. You might want to check if your BIOS settings are correctly configured for HDD detection or try updating the firmware. It identifies all five SSDs and the USB drive, yet it misses the four HDDs (BIOS recognizes them but OS doesn't)

Check if those components are inside the motherboard or on an add-in card. It’s unlikely all 11 drives are connected directly to the internal SATA ports on your motherboard.

The SSDs are connected to the motherboard SATA port, while the HDDs are on an add-in card. I wondered if it might be the card, but since they’re recognized by the BIOS, that’s not likely.

The raid setup I have in mind allows me to connect just two drives, leaving the rest as backup. I might swap out some SSDs and link two HDDs via SATA to see if it resolves the issue. Probably back in a few days.

Hey, just checked it out. It looks like the HBA might have overheated—possibly because the PSU fan was directed at it. I pointed the PSU up into the case since my setup is on carpet.

My Truenas machine is using Raid Z2 (around 6 drives) so it makes sense!
