considering your plans, you could skip the thermal pad and let the 120mm case fan circulate air. Regarding the motherboard, your model appears to support VRM options based on the listing you shared.

Some motherboards come with a tiny fan built in. Inserting a 120mm fan into it doesn’t make much sense—it’s just a waste of money and doesn’t actually help. It only enhances airflow without providing any real benefit.

Unclear, but your VRM temp stays below 70°C and your cheap motherboard is fine.

This motherboard clearly lacks thermal pads, which is why someone suggested I don’t need them. Since I won’t be installing it on the other side, I’m deciding not to purchase it.

This matters because it highlights the importance of proper heat management in components. VRMs play a crucial role in connecting power to the CPU and GPU, especially when performance demands are high. If VRMs are overheating, it can affect overall system stability and longevity. This is relevant for users comparing budget and premium builds, as thermal performance impacts reliability.

It seems your VRM is overheating and causing your CPU to throttle. Since the seller is in the same country, upgrading to a 120mm fan might help resolve the issue.

Is there a structured approach to verify this idea? A basic check by positioning a fan close to the motherboard VRMs without additional components can provide insight into whether overheating is the cause. Be sure to include your system specifications in discussions when seeking assistance.

I'm sorry, I didn't know about that. I'm using an A8 6600K at 4.2GHz. My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA F2A68H S1 with 2x4GB DDR3 at 1600MHz CL8 overvoltage to 1.54V. My PSU is Silverstone ST50F, and I have a case that's just an average cheap ATX. My CPU cooler is Deepcool Ice Edge FS v2, and my CPU started underclocking after I switched my stock cooler. I thought it helped keep the CPU and VRM cool.
