Assistance with configuring multiple devices
Hello everyone, I'm putting together a new configuration that should support several devices. I'm aiming for dual monitors with a few exceptions, though in practice I'll likely use just one device at a time. My setup includes a PC (Intel i7), two laptops (a personal 2015 MB Pro and a work Dell Latitude 5300 2-in-1) and a console (PS4, possibly PS5 soon). I have two LG monitors: the 27GN800 and the 27GP850. My goal is to share peripherals—four USB-A ports and one audio output (speakers)—between my PC and whichever laptop is connected. I'd also like to easily switch which laptop is active for the day, whether it's the PC or a different machine. I primarily use the PC for gaming, but I'm open to any solution that reduces cables and dongles. I've considered a KVM switch but haven't found one that fits well. An alternative is a docking station where all peripherals plug in and I just swap the connected device at the end of the day. I plan to keep the console always connected to an HDMI port on my main monitor, changing inputs as needed. Looking forward to any suggestions, comments, or feedback. Thanks ahead!
