You're new to building PCs and heard a lot about XMP. After checking more details, EXPO is recommended for AMD CPUs instead. I chose EXPO over XMP, but after turning it on and restarting, my motherboard lit up a bright orange light. It worked once, then would turn back on every time I shut it down and power it up again. The boot time was also slow, taking about 3 to 5 minutes each time. This seems unusual—would this be normal? If not, what might be wrong and how can I fix it? Your setup looks solid, but the persistent reboots and long boot times are concerning.

EXPO is simply AMD's way of referring to XMP. Memory training often starts early, though it can occur unexpectedly. A short 3-5 minute session works best. The BIOS has a Memory Context option that may assist, and newer BIOS versions also improve performance.

Thanks. Regarding the orange light, it seems like a possible RAM problem. There are ways to prevent it from occurring regularly.

The memory is being trained during debug operations. The LED indicators illuminate at different stages of the POST process: CPU activation, RAM setup, GPU preparation, and boot device readiness. If the system fails to boot during POST, the corresponding LED remains active, helping identify the problem. Updating the BIOS is recommended, as initial revisions often require 3-5 minutes for training (current versions should complete in 30 seconds to a minute), though older versions may struggle with CPU termination.

Also, I checked MCR a bit after your message, and someone mentioned using it with PowerDown to avoid issues, but what exactly is PowerDown?

I’ll handle that right away. Since I don’t have a u32gb stick nearby, I’ll order one immediately and refresh my BIOS. Plus, it’s raining outside now—don’t want another unexpected power cut to damage my motherboard.

I've experimented with it and didn't see much change. It keeps the RAM in a standby mode when active. When turned on, it powers down during light usage. Turning it off might improve speed, though the actual gain is usually small in real life.

PowerDown refers to a specific feature or setting, but you mentioned it's not an issue with your models.

It seems like you're expressing uncertainty. I'll just take it as a low priority then.
