Assistance required for transferring data from one storage device to Google Drive
I mainly need to create a backup of all the data onto one drive to GDRIVE. I currently use good sync, but it’s extremely slow. I’ve tried Cyberduck, but it crashes randomly and isn’t dependable. The amount of data to transfer is about 4.5tb. I’ve also used Mover, but the task just gets queued and never starts. I have a 300mbps unlimited connection, so I’m okay with that. I could also use online services if they offer faster, cheaper options. Can someone assist me? Thank you.
Initially, what's the reason?
Additionally, 4.5TB will take a long time to copy to the internet.
These other tools you're using aren't particularly impressive.
Your internet connection remains the bottleneck in the process.
because google drive operates more efficiently in my area for downloading and uploading compared to one drive. I recognize that transferring large amounts of data is significant, which is why I’m seeking effective solutions. The methods I’ve tried so far are based on information I found online.
You're asking about the reason behind moving the 4.5TB file to Google Drive. There isn't a special tool that will make it faster, and it's happening as it is. Without these resources, how are you managing to reach this drive? Just attempt it yourself. Or, using one of these tools...just proceed in smaller parts.
Based on your local storage. Choose a folder or chunk and download it to your local PC. Ensure the PC stays on and initiate the download during sleep, at work, etc. Use that chunk while you're asleep, at work, etc. With my internet this is the slow part of the deal.
Hi,
Thank you for your message.
I've been working on this and have noticed that with good sync, I can download faster from one drive but only manage 4-5 files at once. If I exceed that limit, the upload stops with an error from the server. When uploading to gdrive, I can handle 10 files at a time. Do you know the limits of using one drive for simultaneous uploads and downloads?
I don't rely on One Drive, in particular.
I maintain standard backups of Google Drive for our organization, and choosing the correct files has always been a challenge.
When your 300mbps link works equally in both directions:
It delivers 30MB per second, 1.8GB every minute, and 108GB each hour.
A 4.5TB file would require over 40 hours to transfer.
