Hello everyone,
I was thinking about which headphones to purchase, the DT 770 PRO 80.OHM and DT 770 PRO 250.OHM.
Since I plan to use my computer to charge them, I wanted to know if it can power the 250 ohm ones without affecting sound quality, as I could get that model at a lower price.
My power supply is a 550 Watt bronze rated unit, and I have an Asrock B560 PRO 4 motherboard. I'm not sure how that would help.
Thanks,
George

The 250 ohm headphones might not match the volume of the 80 ohm ones. It's unclear if they'll be too quiet. They shouldn't damage the motherboard, but they could be too soft.

The 250 ohm headphones might not match the volume of the 80 ohm ones. It's possible they could sound too soft. You're unsure if they'll affect the motherboard, but it seems they might just be quieter.

Can you determine if the system will become quieter by checking similar to audio driver settings on the motherboard?

Trust me, unless you have a strong external headphone amplifier, opt for the 80 ohm version.
It's not only about volume—it's about achieving full sound quality. My high-impedance Senn HD 600 headphones can reach a good volume with a Sound Blaster card that includes an internal headphone amp, but the result lacks the richness and depth you get with a dedicated external amp.
Amps lacking sufficient power or capacitance may sound thin, especially when bass-heavy tracks are used.
