My friends, your old hard drive is acting up and you're thinking about swapping it out for a 320 GB WD Blue. The main challenge here is transferring all your data without having to reinstall Windows or deal with a lot of hassle. You’ll need a reliable method like using a USB transfer tool or a cloud service to move everything safely.

Clone the storage device using WD’s Acronis version. The new drive should be at least as large as the original for optimal outcome. WD provides detailed instructions on their website, and Captain_WD can offer further assistance.

his previous storage device is a Seagate 2 TB drive, while the new one is a 320 GB WD Blue. He currently has less than 320 GB of data on the 2 TB model.

An alternative method is referred to as migrate. You choose folders to transfer.

Another method of cloning exists, similar to what Acronis offers. You'll need to partition or format a new disk, but this can happen during the migration process. For more details, refer to the manual for WD edition of Acronis at the provided link. As mentioned, I've only tried this from 1TB to 2TB, so it's unclear how it will perform with smaller drives.
