I installed the computer without problems so far. I purchased the Windows 8.1 student edition from Microsoft and installed it via USB in several attempts, but each failed. I mounted an ISO on the USB drive, which allowed the installation to proceed up to the HDD, not the SSD. After restarting, it reported the error irql_not_less_or_equal. When I used the standard Windows installer on the USB and tried to install, it said there were no drivers available. I’m unsure what to do next.

Last link: http://wind8apps.com/fix-irql_not_less_o...ndows-8-1/ Your windows installation is probably fine. It is a driver issue. Isolate the driver, then find a work-around.

Based on what I found, placing your wireless card in now might be interfering with the installation. I’ll take it out and test it then.

Removing the wireless card fixed everything, though it made me feel a bit awkward. The build is now complete—YAY!
