I just assembled an ASUS Z390-E PC but I’m unsure about installing Windows there. Should I use the "Create Windows Shell in UEFI" option? I attempted to install a Windows 10 USB, but it stops my keyboard and makes the system freeze if the OS isn’t installed before booting. I have a Microsoft Windows 10 USB from Microsoft.

No, I didn't modify the BIOS or adjust the boot sequence for a USB stick running Windows.

You connect the USB drive, start from the BIOS setup, adjust the boot sequence to prioritize it. After restarting, you enter the installer by pressing any key when prompted. Numerous tutorials explain each step, but partitioning and choosing the drive are the most critical parts. Is this a fresh installation or are you updating an existing system?

If your system fails to start before the computer boots—this is unusual or even impossible (boot initiates first). The same applies to the keyboard: regardless of how you boot the Win10 installation media and any BIOS settings, it should function properly. Examine every component in your setup—all cables and connections.

I managed to get it running. I accessed the "ez" mode via the bios, adjusted the boot sequence, and chose the Windows boot option. It wasn't straightforward from the boot order screen since it would lock in the settings, but it wouldn't restart automatically—though I’m not sure how to reboot from the main BIOS page. Now that I have Windows 10 (bought directly from Microsoft), the Wi-Fi adapter isn’t being recognized. Maybe it’s because dual-band Wi-Fi wasn’t available at launch? I need to move my TV and computer to another room with a wired connection so I can test the adapter again. Perhaps an OS update is necessary. I also installed the USB W10 and keyboard on separate hubs—one for the case ports and one for the MB ports. I’m hoping this resolves the issue, but it’s possible something went wrong during installation.

That’s not the issue—it’s the missing drivers. Dual band existed long before Windows 10. It seems internal, and it isn’t listed in the device manager. Check if it’s turned off in the BIOS. If not, get drivers from the motherboard support page. Also, be careful with case ports during OS installation.

It's the same controller. Perhaps years back, when low-quality USB2.0 ports were linked to a second motherboard, it was accurate, or on older boards, when you upgraded the BIOS (FAT32 needed and only USB2.0 ports), but now I don't believe it matters much in a high-quality case with top-notch USB3 connectors.

Though for new builder there's bigger possibility that case connector is loose and causes problems.

I resolved most issues except the AIO RGB and possibly the pump. Updating to the October 2018 version fixed the Wi-Fi problem. The USB issue also seems resolved, though the Asus site mentions the new BIOS (17xx) addresses USB port concerns. It looks like the Wi-Fi might not have been supported with older Windows 10 versions due to dual-channel settings. I suspect the pump RGB could be affected by the BIOS flash. I’ve been using my PC all night under moderate load, so the water pump appears to be functioning properly. Still impressed by the cool air blowing from the fan case. Right now I haven’t updated the BIOS; I need to visit Best Buy for a USB drive.

The issue lies with RGB settings—either lack of control or absence of lighting.
