He wanted to know if I could assist him in installing cameras linked to his PC via cable and connect the PC to his phone for viewing. He mentioned he already has a network card but hasn’t tried connecting it yet. I’m trying to find out if anyone knows how to do this, especially the steps for adjusting the PC’s network IP and setting up the phone connection.

It seems there might be some confusion. The camera hub isn't typically wired into a gateway, router, or switch in standard configurations. Also, instructions are usually available online or in the product manual. Let me know if you'd like help finding the right resources!

He just called me and gave me a brief overview. What I remember most is that he mentioned having cameras to connect to his PC and phone using a network card on the computer. It sounded like he had everything set up except for figuring out how to install it on the PC.

Uncertain about linking cameras straight to a PC unless he’s building a custom NVR, since most modern systems include a central hub that connects all cameras to the internet through an Ethernet cable linked to a router or switch. If this setup exists, you shouldn’t have to completely overhaul your network. There’s no justification for lacking instructions—manuals are usually provided or available online. Avoid guessing; follow the guidance carefully.

I'm still learning programming, so I figured I'd try to understand it. I thought you could link the cameras to the PC by treating the camera IPs as hosts and switching the PC's IP. I'll visit his place to chat and see what he actually has; if you're still here on this forum, I'll forward the feed. Thanks again!
