Have a WiFi camera from "smitch" which stopped working with its app. The camera isn’t connecting to other programs, especially since the company seems to have shut down. You’re in India and you’re unsure if this matters. You want to install it for your parents. The camera is a cheap "Smitch" model found at your dad’s place. The official app no longer works, so you’re stuck with a device that won’t pair properly. You’ve tried another app called "Smart Life - Smart Living" by volcano tech, but pairing fails because the camera keeps asking for a QR code scan. It’s unclear if the camera is damaged or just incompatible. Consider checking the hardware, updating firmware, or looking for alternative solutions. If it doesn’t work, replacing it might be the best option.

If you can connect your camera to the network, it’s likely streaming RTSP data that you can capture with VLC Media Player. You may need nmap to identify the running port. If pairing isn’t possible, the app probably won’t work. This highlights why smart device platforms can be unreliable.

I don’t understand the exact problem preventing connection. The app seems to expect a QR code scan, but the camera only shows one red LED that keeps flashing. It’s frustrating because I’m trying to upgrade but need more details about what’s going wrong. As a student, I want a wifi camera, but my parents are hesitant about the cost.

You could link to it via the QR code in the Tuya app. Some smart gadgets are simply branded as Tuya devices under different names. It might be worth a look—here’s the link for Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/detai...tuya.smart and for iOS: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/tuya-smart/id1034649547
