You can still use Steam on your Mac even if you're on Windows, but be careful about installing apps from the Steam client. Bootcamp Assistant might help, but it’s not guaranteed to protect your Mac OS files—make sure you download everything from official sources and avoid risky installations.
What bootcamp does it generate a separate NTFS partition for Windows without interfering with your current Mac files, provided you have sufficient extra space—around 100 GB is recommended. However, it’s always wise to keep regular backups using Time Machine, which I believe is superior to File History on Windows 10. Just note that Time Machine only backs up your Mac files.
Minimal dangers arise when installing partitions and additional boot features, yet Apple ensures a secure experience. The issue lies in your inability to engage in extensive gaming on any current Apple device.
In rare cases I have a Seagate 2TB backup along with a hard drive that includes automatic scheduling. If installation fails, I can use recovery mode and restore files from my drive. Regarding storage, I can adjust the hard drive capacity—starting at 250GB or increasing it to 400GB if needed. Bootcamp allows me to modify the drive size as well.
