Looking for a solid overclocking board for your Z990K. You're considering the ASRock Fatal1ty Z370 Pro Gaming i7 or the ROG Maximus X Hero. The ASRock option looks promising with its VRM and BIOS Flashback feature, which avoids needing an 8th-gen CPU. The ROG model is also a strong contender but may require more work. the hero employs 8 sic639s in pairs, which amounts to 4. regarding the asrock board, there was no information available about its VRM, unfortunately. if you're only considering these details, the hero should suffice.

the asrock one performs significantly better. hero reaches a maximum of 400a while the asrock one hits 720a, making the latter much stronger.
