Following Ubisoft's handling of their clients, the harshly anti-consumer embargo on Unity, and the rather average reviews from critics—even those who weren’t bothered—I’m genuinely puzzled as to why people keep wanting to play this title. A solid marketing team, at least in that regard.
It's still not great, but the game works. It responds badly to certain inputs, especially AA. Anything other than FXAA significantly lowers your frame rate. 2x-MSAA drops performance by about 15fps. PCSS (Shadows) adds another 7-10fps loss. Even with VSync enabled, you lose roughly 5fps. If you're okay with FXAA, it should be fine. But if you dislike FXAA's look, you'll be fine.
