To maintain the base clock at its default setting while slightly undervolting your CPU, adjust the voltage control settings in your BIOS or motherboard configuration. Ensure the system runs with the correct clock frequency and voltage limits are set appropriately. This will help keep performance stable without overclocking. Let me know if you need further guidance!

The goal is to boost performance while cutting power consumption by running at a higher frequency continuously, which helps dissipate more heat. It’s confusing how this works.

This setup would work well. It might be useful for operating quietly and at lower temperatures.

Adjusted the power configuration in Windows 10 to handle up to 4.8 gz, but I prefer a stable stock setting even when idle. I plan to lower the voltage and check the results in BIOS. Edit: I entered BIOS and modified the CPU boost settings, now it runs at base clock 3.6 gz constantly. Next step is experimenting with undervolting using CVCORE.

You're looking for default settings with low temperatures and stability, undervolted, and minimal gaming use. Since you're using Vmware Player for testing an Linux server, focus on those VM settings. For undervolting, check the BIOS/UEFI options in your VM or the Linux distribution's power management tools. Look for default voltage levels and ensure stability is prioritized. No need to play games—just tweak settings carefully.

YouTube and Google are great places to begin. They've been discussed frequently, possibly even in this video.
