You should check your current motherboard compatibility with the 5800X3D. Recent updates suggest AMD now supports the 5000 series, so a BIOS update might be sufficient unless there are specific chipset restrictions. If you're unsure, consider getting a new board to ensure full support for future upgrades.

A system upgrade is necessary. You must transition to version L4.88.

You need a specific BIOS version, like 4.88, and you should follow the instructions on the Asrock site. The code names aren't important unless they mention compatibility issues. If it mentions a beta status, it might affect your build but not necessarily the update itself.

Pinnacle, Raven or Summit Ridge CPU generally refers to 1000 or 2000 series models. To verify: check the motherboard page at https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/X470 Taichi/index.asp#Overview. Then review the CPU support list on that site and look for L4.88 next to the 5800X3D, which indicates a minimum update requirement. Since 4.88 is still in beta, it might be safer to bypass it and upgrade to 5.10 instead.

Update your system with the newest BIOS. Download the most recent chipset drivers from AMD, not AsRock, and proceed to install the latest CPU.
