I created a compact home server with budget components. The specs include a Ryzen 3 4100 G.Skill Aegis, 32GB RAM (2x16GB), a 2400Mhz processor, an Asrock B550M SSD, and two XHS3 NVMe drives. I set up a ZFS array using a Kioxia Excercia 500GB NVMe SSD for storage. For the operating system, I’m running an older AMD Radeon X300 SE, which works fine for basic tasks but lacks a GPU. I prefer a headless configuration so I can connect via SSH without needing a display.
