Hi everyone, I'm working on assembling a new PC using a Ryzen 5 5500G. I ran into some problems and tried posting with Corsair Vengeance RAM. Instead of a normal display, I got just a flashing white line. I thought this might be related to needing a BIOS update for the APU. I used Ryzen 5 1600 and 2600 with Corsair Vengeance Pro RAM, along with an Asus Strix GPU (1060). All setups seemed correct, but nothing showed up at all. I double-checked connections and everything looked fine. Could it be that the motherboard is dead? I don’t think so because I got a working screen. Any advice would be really appreciated.

B550 doesn't work with Zen (Ryzen 1600) and Zen+ (Ryzen 2600). For updates, you need at least a Zen 2 (like Ryzen 3100) or 3200G. If you have a 5500G, verify the motherboard's CPU compatibility list—5500G isn't supported.

B550 boards aren't compatible with the first or second generation Ryzen chips. Follow AMD's return procedure to obtain a temporary CPU (like an Athlon model), update your BIOS, and then return it.

I don't have personal experience, but I can provide guidance. The loaner time depends on the lender and your request. A B450 MMO is compatible with many systems, but confirm with the manufacturer or seller beforehand.

It varies based on the B450 board, but they should fit. The schedule for the backup CPU isn't clear to me.
