I have a pre-built PC since March and planned to upgrade the CPU to a Ryzen 9. It seems my motherboard is a B550. I’m having trouble finding details about this board online. Could anyone confirm if it supports a Ryzen 9 generation? Also, where can I get more info about my motherboard so I can begin working on it?
The generations range from 3000 to 5000, and B550 motherboards work with Ryzen 9 3900X at a minimum. Since the exact model isn't clear, it's uncertain if you can upgrade to a 5900X for real use. What's the CPU model? Also, does your board have sufficient VRM power for the processor? You wouldn't want to spend a lot on a CPU that loses speed later.
