Hello all, I'm currently running a plex server and nas off a tower in my spare room (on windows even though I know it's not the best solution, but it's been this way for years so yeah). With Windows 10 approaching end of life I was looking at "upgrading to windows 11." I can see that my MoBo is listed as having TPM 2.0 as an available option with BIOS updates, but I can see that my CPU isn't supported by the latest BIOS. I see that bios version 4.80 adds windows 11 support, but: + It's noted that "ASRock do NOT recommend updating this BIOS if you are going to use Pinnacle, Raven or Summit Ridge CPU on your system." + On the CPU compatability page the 2200G is listed as having compatability with all BIOS So I'm getting conflicting messages. In the interest of not bricking my nas and not buying a new CPU, has anyone run this board and CPU combo with more recent BIOS versions? CPU: Ryzen 3 2200G MoBo: ASRock B450M-HDV R4.0 BIOS Version 1.00, 11/26/2018 https://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/B450M-HDV R4.0/index.us.asp#BIOS https://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/B450M-HDV R4.0/index.us.asp#CPU

It doesn't really matter either way if you're following the proper process, since the 2200G isn't included in the officially supported CPUs (likely because the cores use Zen instead of Zen+).

Yes, it suggests avoiding fixes until the issue is resolved.

You should be fine, windows 10 stops getting support in August of 2025. You'll still be able to use it.

It seems the Zen/Zen+ functionality was removed from the BIOS officially. This change likely happened because the B450 chip was moved to an AGESA designed for B550 boards, ensuring continued support for Zen 2 and Zen 3. The main reason was the BIOS size, though it probably isn't the issue for most modern boards now.

It makes sense. I’ll keep it like this now, and next year I’ll need to think about upgrading the CPU to a newer model or switching to Linux on that machine. I’ll have to figure out how challenging it will be to move my metadata over to Plex.
