I've got an AsRock 939 dual-SATA2 motherboard, and I've spent hours searching online for the right CPU upgrade or AM2 CPU card. It has multiple names, and I'm trying to locate it on platforms like eBay, local sites, and Craigslist. I'm reaching out hoping someone can assist or point me directly to where I need it.

That motherboard caught my eye. I used a Volt mod and FX-55 to get rid of it—those were memorable times. Back then, finding that expansion card was tough; only seasoned folks at Warp9-systems would know where to look now. I never owned one and found AM2 boards simpler. Wishing you success with your build—your setup sounds great! Take care of that rare piece.

It has some bulging caps but functions properly. I’m planning to summarize the board soon.

For a quick summary, you can chat with @Beerzerker. He’s familiar with the right tools and components. I’m not very skilled at soldering electronics, so I don’t want to share unclear tips or suggestions. Maybe Zerker can help you find the right expansion card!

I've reviewed your server setup earlier, so I'm confident you're solid on that. I'll follow up about the expansion card. Thanks for the advice!

It's good to hear you're reaching out. I'm not familiar with your specific expertise or tools, just here to assist! If you're comfortable sharing, screenshots and images would be helpful. Don't worry about timing—take your time. I haven't encountered that particular motherboard recently, and most people I know use the Intel SATA II 4Core model.

I owned a similar board once, but I couldn’t locate the expansion card back then. It seems unlikely such items are widely available now. If you ever come across one, please share some pictures—I’d really appreciate seeing it in action.

The rare expansion cards are indeed hard to find, so keep an eye on fleabay for any listings or boards that might have them. I don’t know their exact value, but they’re likely to be on the higher side—expect a pricey purchase if you come across a few. I’ll stay alert and share what I discover.

Hello from Russia. It's interesting to see someone still recalling these old rare items. Smile I own a functional setup using an ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 from around 2007 (or possibly 2006, I don't remember precisely), and locating an AM2 CPU board wasn't easy even though the AM2 socket was just released—it was a genuine product. Eventually, in August 2008, I purchased one on ewiz.com along with an Athlon 64 X2 6400+ CPU and DDR2-800 RAM. That system is still operational, though it's been used very infrequently since 2012. If anyone is interested today, I can share photos of the setup in the coming weeks (I'm currently in another city).
