I’m looking into the Gigabyte B450 AORUS Elite ATX board. It mentions ECC un-buffered DIMM and non-ECC un-buffered DIMM options. Since I’m unfamiliar with these terms, I’m unsure whether a standard 16GB RAM setup is possible or if I need special memory modules.

Ecc handles error checking while buffering can be adjusted for performance. You likely won’t have issues with this setup.

You're good with standard memory, no need for anything extra. Which type of memory are you checking?

Corsair and G.Skill are the top choices. Use a RAM speed of 3200mhz or higher with a stable latency of 16 at XMP settings. Best configurations are 16-16-16 or 16-18-18 timings.

G.skill aegis offers solid value as an affordable dimmer, while ripjaws V perform well too, though they tend to cost more.

It would be great and just right, though maybe a bit too polished for a casual budget situation.
