The memory usage on a Minecraft server doesn't necessarily follow the same pattern as CPU usage—it can vary and isn't always increasing. It depends on factors like game load, player activity, and server settings. You might not always see a steady rise in memory consumption.

Usage fluctuates depending on player count. Higher numbers of players load additional data, increasing RAM demand. It’s likely memory usage rose over time as servers aged. Adding intricate elements like redstone and mob farms can also raise consumption. You may be mixing up memory with storage—save and world files typically grow with exploration.

It wasn't confusing at all—it was just the memory growing steadily without dropping. We discovered the issue lies with the server provider using a plugin or mod called Spark. They claim it’s simply storing more in the cache, which explains the increase. I asked them directly, and they said RAM never unloads; it just keeps adding to the cache. That doesn’t make much sense to me, but I’m pretty sure that’s not how RAM actually works.
