Hi, Does Windows 11 let me use an AAC Bluetooth codec? If yes, how do I pick this option and save it for my headphones? My headset is Bluetooth version 5.2 and the computer also has Bluetooth version 5.2. Where do I go in Windows 11 to set up sound settings so my audio sounds best? Thanks,

Windows can handle AAC files without any special settings set up. It automatically picks the best option and finds whatever Bluetooth headphones you have using the built-in chip.

Is there a way to check if it works while playing?

bluetooth tweaker , its paid app, but it has 7day free trial it shows which codecs are supported by your bluetooth devices and which is selected by windows if windows uses wrong codec, theres nothing to do about it alternatively you can get bluetooth audio transmitter where you can select manualy which codec you want to use

Windows supports AAC and SBC. Unfortunately, latency is usually higher vs ios or android for some reason, using the same codes. I believe Andriod or Ios compensates for latency somehow. For music its fine, but if you want to game on Bluetooth, I'd suggest shopping for a AptXLL Bluetooth transceiver for your PC and getting headphones that can use that codec. Update - transceiver

These headphones work with AAC and SBC audio formats alone.
