System issues have been appearing lately, especially with VRAM problems on my Zotac RTX 3080 Trinity LHR. The symptoms began with black boxes and rendering glitches in DX games like Spoiler Today, and now they show up even when the GPU is idle on the desktop. From what I see, it’s related to memory usage. I reached out about this under warranty, but the support team is pushing back, saying I’m on my own since I bought the GPU second-hand. Their UK policy doesn’t cover second-hand purchases, though they do exclude them from their extended warranty. I’m trying to request an RMA and am looking for more troubleshooting steps.

Consider lowering the VRAM and reducing voltage to see if it stabilizes temporarily. Otherwise, replacement might be necessary. Make sure your warranty covers such changes—especially in the US, where it typically doesn’t transfer. In the UK, rules could vary too.

It seems there might be a Vram problem. I wouldn't be surprised if the card needs to be replaced.

It remains uncertain from my perspective. The warranty could be lacking, yet our consumer protections might still apply. We previously suggested laws making warranty transferability clearer, but those ideas didn’t progress. Zotac appears more supportive than anticipated, which seems favorable according to what I’ve seen online.

The problem is difficult to recreate since it only occurs occasionally. Right now, using the desktop works well. Yesterday I experienced those artifacts, yet I was able to play High on Life for several hours without any issues in-game. It seems unusual.
