I've just moved from a 5800X to AM5 with the 7950X. I'm using an Asus Strix X670E-E wifi board and the G skill Trident Z Neo CL36 with 6000 36-36-36-96 DDR5 RAM. At first, I encountered an issue loading the DOCP profile, but after another attempt, my PC started up normally. Right away, I noticed it was running very slow and stuttering. Also, I couldn't connect to the internet because one card didn’t have any network drivers installed. I just got them from my MacBook and transferred them to my PC without any problems. Then I updated the BIOS and tried again, but the problem persisted—stutters everywhere. I opened HWinfo and was confused. My CPU was clocked just over 1 GHz, with voltages below 0.5V or even lower. I immediately turned off the PC. Could it be a faulty CPU? I don’t think the power supply is the issue—I double-checked that both 8-pin cables were securely connected.

Your processor temperatures are being checked. Are you asking about a brand new Windows setup or an older one with the 5800X chip?

I checked the power supply; it seems the new one is installed.

You asked if I meant what you said instead of me. Also, 3DFX for life!

I can't take pictures or capture screenshots directly. However, I can describe what the BIOS main screen typically shows for CPU clock information. Let me know if you'd like that!

Don't think that old windows drivers or whatever software can do that, it's a lower level error Neither a PSU as crap as it can be, if it works it sends power To me it's defo an hardware issue, power delivery on the mobo is faulty, as it delivers ...max 0.6V wtf (it should be between min 0.8 and max 1.4 approx) ! So to OP @DerZollMann : reset CMOS, update BIOS, if it persists RMA your board

The PSU comes from an earlier setup, yet it's a Corsair RM850X, which shouldn't cause issues. You're wondering if the problem lies with the CPU rather than the motherboard, since you've updated the BIOS but plan to reset CMOS and reapply the BIOS.

I’m not sure about it. My current setup uses a different model, though I suspect the problem might be elsewhere.

I’ve reinstalled my PC in November and set up Windows New, still using my 5800X. I believed the setup was solid since there were no issues when moving from the 3700X to the 5800X back in 2020. Although I can’t view the CPU temperature in HWinfo for some reason, the BIOS shows around 40°C. The voltage listed is also correct, approximately 1.340 V and 1.359 V.
