Arma III Stuttering Issue
Arma III Stuttering Issue
Setting up the game on an SSD significantly improves performance, especially in low-traffic areas, though you'll still experience around 30-40 FPS on busy servers.
Playing on an SSD makes the game much smoother and more enjoyable overall.
I noticed I got to play it last night and the stuttering was intermittent. When it doesn’t stutter and the game runs smoothly, I’m not a big fan. I enjoy the feeling of a vast world that seems empty, but the shooting doesn’t quite sound or feel right for me. I haven’t sniped yet, so I can’t comment on that part, but I hope it’s better than using the assault rifle. The moment I finally found targets to shoot at, I found hit detection terrible with that weapon. It might improve over time, but it didn’t feel correct at all.
I haven’t even thought about playing online yet. I’d like to be at least decent before jumping into online play. The single-player mode already feels overwhelming. Thanks for your feedback—it’s really helpful.
You're welcome.
The controls can feel a bit awkward at times since you have many options you can't use in other games. Additionally, it tends to be a slower shooter compared to others because it focuses more on positioning rather than precise aiming or quick shots.
It stands out as one of the rare titles where shooting upward to keep enemies grounded makes sense. However, this approach doesn't always perform well against AI in single-player. Multiplayer plays quite differently, but you should definitely get accustomed to the controls before diving into the multiplayer mode.
I noticed that and I really appreciate that part of the game a lot. I enjoy how calm and spacious it feels, and you have to traverse this huge map just to locate anyone. The only sounds you really pick up are your footsteps and the ambient noises around you. They captured that feel well. It's quite realistic.
I saw this same aspect in a few MP game play videos on YouTube. It was one of the reasons I became interested in playing the game. I haven't paid much attention to it since I've mostly played single-player missions, which are great so far. Even when I'm just walking around the woods and beach areas like in The Forest, it felt very authentic. The controls seem a bit awkward, particularly with a controller, but they're not overly problematic—just a bit unconventional. I don't think it's terrible, though; it's just a bit unusual and not the most intuitive.
I only use the controller during flights with helicopters or jets, and otherwise rely on M&K. The controller lacks sufficient inputs for all the infantry controls—it's far from adequate.
Absolutely, I’d recommend getting comfortable with mouse and keyboard controls for infantry management as well. After mastering the basic movement and shooting functions, you’ll quickly find yourself running out of controller buttons, so a keyboard will still be essential. The built-in mission editor is also incredibly handy—it lets you create a quick scenario, add enemy units, or test vehicles right away. Arma is designed for cooperative play, making it perfect for groups to craft missions together or download from the Steam Workshop. The Dynamic Recon Ops mission is ideal for simple, repeatable scenarios. With all the mods and missions available from the community, there’s always something engaging to do.
