I recently purchased Arma 3 and began playing the campaign, but was shocked by the low FPS—around 38 FPS at first, then gradually climbing to the high 60s over about 30 minutes. I checked online and found that this performance issue was common, likely due to the engine's limitations. Regardless, I need a solid frame rate of 60+ FPS on my hardware, particularly since I’m only using 1080p.

I own an ASUS X99-A with a 5820K graphics card, 980 Ti speed, 32GB RAM, and a Skill CPU. The Cryorig R1 Ultimate is also installed. I’ve heard Arma 3 can be quite demanding on the CPU, so I considered overclocking to around 4.3 GHz. I’m wondering if my air cooler could handle it, given its strong airflow. I plan to use an air cooler with a BIOS overclock setting, as I don’t want to waste space on storage. I’ll also look into applications for stress testing and monitoring my CPU, possibly checking if ASUS offers any tools for this purpose.

The setup from the box doesn't deliver optimal results. This adjustment guide was my solution. I followed the recommendations on http://wiki.day0.com.au/ArmA_3_Performan...ings_Guide. I'm seeing 60-90fps in general, but around 45fps in larger cities during multiplayer. Single-player sessions perform better. My system specs are an i5 6600k @3.8ghz, r9 390, msi z170 gaming m3, and 16gb g.skill 3000mhz.

Instead of increasing the speed too much, focus on adjusting ARMA 3 for improved performance. Once that's done, you can consider further upgrades. Check out this tutorial to learn how to fine-tune Arma 3 for better outcomes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cf2rB9HpRLA

In the local setting, Arma 3 performs well with high-quality visuals and impressive frames. Online play is restricted by your FPS capabilities, even with top-end configurations, which often cap performance around 60 fps.

Based on my observations, ARMA 3 is extremely resource-intensive, making it difficult for even skilled players to run smoothly.

The setup won't deliver top performance out of the box. This adjustment guide was created for me. I'm seeing 60-90fps in general, but around 45fps in larger cities. Multiplayer works best, while single-player is even smoother. The specs are an i5 6600k @3.8ghz, r9 390, msi z170 gaming m3, and 16gb g.skill 3000mhz.

The boxed setup doesn't deliver optimal performance. I followed the adjustment guide from http://wiki.day0.com.au/ArmA_3_Performan...ings_Guide. I'm seeing 60-90fps, except in very large towns where it drops to around 45fps. This is in multiplayer mode; single player performs better. My hardware specs are: i5 6600k @3.8ghz, r9 390, msi z170 gaming m3, 16gb g.skill 3000mhz. It looks good, I plan to try it too and hope for similar results.
