Hi, I've been playing Arma for around 100 hours and recently noticed my audio issues. When looking straight ahead, I can't hear anything clearly—only the left and right sides are loud. To hear my car, I need to hold Alt and adjust my camera to the front, or switch to first person mode. Also, my footsteps are only audible through the left speaker in my headphones. This isn’t a problem with my headphones; I already did a surround test and everything was fine—the speakers are M50x models. Thanks for your help.

Arma doesn't include any audio configuration options; it automatically recognizes your system settings at startup via Windows sound controls. Click the sound icon in the taskbar, navigate to Playback Devices, and select the device you're using—this displays the number of speakers set up. Based on typical configurations, you likely have a 5.1 setup without a surround sound app, so only the speakers you've connected are active. Changing it to 2.0 should resolve the issue.

I discovered this earlier, when I used my Razer headphones with surround sound controls off—it actually worked fine. Would've made no difference if it was on.
