ARMA 3
ARMA 3
Essentially the Arma engine requires both CPU and GPU power. Even with a powerful GPU and a decent processor, performance will still lag. To get the best results on your PC, you need to experiment with the settings for about half an hour. That’s why there’s an FPS counter in the video settings—it helps track progress.
I reduced everything to their minimum settings until the game felt like claymation. The frame rate stayed uneven at around 50 FPS. I kept my scaling at full and thought my GTX 980 SC with 4GB VRAM could handle it—so an overclocked i5 4670K at 4.4GHz seems more than capable? Probably not the best choice, though. I didn’t focus much on CPU usage during playtime. Once back home I’ll verify with accurate numbers. I’m sure it wasn’t that bad, right?
