I just bought ARMA 3 on the Steam sale and right away adjusted the settings to check how inefficient the game engine is. I was seeing between 20 to 50 frames per second while my EVGA GeForce GTX 980 was running at about 60% capacity. Someone has a personal tip or guide on fine-tuning the settings so the game runs smoothly without sacrificing too much performance. I've searched myself, but most advice just recommends lowering the settings. Even at low levels, I consistently drop below 50 FPS, which is frustrating.

They said ARMA 3 is mainly CPU-focused and your graphics card isn’t the issue. Sadly, the best fix is to reduce the settings until it works for you. I felt the same way about DayZ too.

I tried this game today and noticed some motion blur effects that made it a bit frustrating. Despite that, I still think the game performed adequately for me. I ran it on an i5 2500K and a GTX 670, neither of which were overclocked. The only issue was the controls, which seemed unreliable and made simple tasks more difficult.

It's a game that isn't fully optimized. I enjoy it, but it doesn't use its hardware to its full potential. The issues started in Arma 2 and persist in Arma 3.

It seems there aren't many options left. I've been hoping for a solution for a long time.

It seems their reasoning explains why we should release it even if it's not perfect, since we can still generate profits from a flawed version.

The scaling is set to 100% by default. I test at 280X with a stock 2600 non-K and maintain around 50-60 FPS at high settings. It’s significantly better optimized now compared to the early versions.

Arma 3 performs poorly across most platforms, demanding significant processing power.
