I just started playing BF1 for the first time, but when I launched it, a message appeared that said "Battlefield 1 failed to start Please repair your game installation and try again." I already tried turning off my Discord and Origin overlay, running Origin as an admin, and checking the files on Steam. Nothing has worked yet. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have other EA games that come with mods?

Try this: Open File Explorer and go to Documents. Then, go to Battlefield 1. Open the Settings folder. Move all files to a safe place (create a desktop folder). You can also cut and paste those files somewhere else. Try turning off your antivirus software and see if you can start the game. If that doesn't work, try deleting the bf1.exe file from the installation folder and repair the game. Once it starts repairing, it will redownload the bf1.exe file and hopefully everything will be fixed again. You can also try this different solution: Go to where your game is installed. The default path is usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 1. Your path might be different. Go to the __Installer folder. Go to vc folder. Go to vc2013 folder. Open the redist folder and install those two files inside.

I don't have these folders to work with. I got this game through Steam. I also turned off my antivirus, but that didn't help at all.

People on Reddit say that Batlefront 2 mods stop the game from starting properly. They suggest using Frosty Fix to fix this, but if you turn on mods, Punkbuster will lock your account and ban you from playing online games. Here is a link about how to use Frosty Fix: https://www.softpedia.com/get/Gaming-Rel...yFix.shtml

I've already tried to completely restart Battlefield 1 and remove all the Origin games just in case they were causing trouble. It still hasn't worked, so my game is still not opening.
