Are you seeking feedback on a fresh design?
Hi, I need to upgrade my gaming PC. It's been over six years, and I'm struggling with newer games. I found a build on pcpartpicker and wondered if it would work smoothly at high settings. Also, I want to know if the power supply can handle two monitors with this setup.
The build I saw is from Microcenter for 550, but the rest of the components are from various places. I'm not sure about the case choice, especially since my current one is a mid-tower. I might consider a Fractal Meshify model instead.
I also have questions about CPU cooling—should I keep using Noctua or switch to water cooling? I've used Noctua before and it's been reliable.
Build looks good.
👍
The case is more of a personal choice, so not much I could say about it... though that big ol' Meshify XL... it's going to look rather empty inside with the usual part selection.
Mid towers are large enough for most builds.
No harm in trying an AIO out of curosity, if you wish. If you already have a cooler on hand that you can use as a backup for the new build, then you've already taken care of one of the biggest cons with AIOs.
I would examine Windows 11 for these 13 generation CPUs to assess how the operating system aligns with their performance characteristics. A suitable configuration exists that offers comparable results at a lower price point. For those needing integrated graphics, the i7 13700 is recommended.

If you're after Intel, it's best to wait for the i7 14700 release if you can.
For AMD options, the AM5 platform allows you to upgrade your CPU using the same motherboard even in 2026.
When gaming at 2K resolution, the 4070ti won't be suitable soon; the 12GB RAM limit will also become a constraint.
With these considerations, I recommend looking into the 4080 or 7900XT models.
AM5 build recommendations:
- High-end air cooler with temperature display
- ARGB case featuring a Type C front panel connector
- ATX 3.0 PSU with a 16-pin connector for Nvidia and AMD cards

You can use it as it is. NH-D15 performs well in a decent case. For better results, consider 360mm AIO coolers. The NH-D15 also handles high temperatures effectively, even at 13900K. Core i9-13900K Cooling Guide: Evaluating Intel's Flagship with Affordable Air and Large AIOs
I assessed every possibility and chose to hold off on the 14700.
