Hello, I own a Filco Majestouch 2 and really enjoy that keyboard. Anyone familiar with this hardware knows it's highly regarded, almost like the king of keyboards. So you might wonder if posting is necessary. The reality is even the keyboard is impressive—after years of use, I find the keys a bit too small for my fingers. I have a somewhat rugby-like build and my hands match that. I rely on this keyboard heavily as I develop a game, so I was wondering if there are alternatives similar to the Majestouch 2 that could help with the problem. keyboards evolve every six years... it could have been great in 2018, but I’m not sure about the current keyboard scene enough to judge. It really depends on what you need now.

Many custom mechanicals allow swapping components, though mine isn’t top-notch. I can change switches and keycaps if needed. Everything is removable. It has RGB lighting, but I keep it off to preserve battery life because it’s also wireless.
the majestouch 2 is a classic. it stands out among these devices that remain timeless. they performed well when launched and are still praised by many now. but I have to admit, my fingers are a bit large.
so i was torn between the Logitech MX keys, the MS designer compact, and the 3D connexion creator keyboard. in the end, i chose the keychron K3 ultra slim. for two main reasons, i needed brown switches which work best for me, and i preferred the key size. I would have liked a non-lit version, but that option wasn't available in that model. not too much to worry about.
i'll make a small note when i get it to share my initial impressions.

I considered keychron, they were recommended to me. A friend shared a collection of them that all failed, so I opted for a Nuphy Halo96 with baby raccoon switches instead.

My version includes an RGB strip on the edge but it's turned off. It was intended to last about 30 hours, but the batteries haven't run out yet. It's been running for about three weeks now. The wireless connection is inconsistent, though I'm connected via Bluetooth.
I don't require the underglow feature.
I have backlighting, but it reacts to my fingers, making it easier to see in the mornings.
I got the keychron and sent it back. I understand, though I believe it’s a decent keyboard. The transition from a Majestouch to something else feels abrupt, just like moving from a Rolls to another car after years. No matter what you try, you’ll miss your lovely English. The brown switches are tougher than the Filco Cherry MX ones. Still, there’s a nice feature here—the lighting persistence. When you press a key, it lights up in a few milliseconds, letting you know if you mistyped. That’s impressive. But it doesn’t make up for the 100€ price jump.
I went for Logitech MX keys, which had lots of positive reviews online. Same setup. Coming from a Rolls experience is disappointing. The keys feel stiff; they probably aren’t as soft. But compared to the Cherry MX Brown, you actually get a tactile difference. The keyboard still has good features like media keys, but it doesn’t justify the 120€ price.
So I ended up in a bit of a dead end. When I started looking around for alternatives, I found these options. I bought the brown set to give the Majestouch a Model M vibe. 😊 It might be the ultimate keyboard for half the cost, but let’s see what else we can find.

Yeah, they also deliver to Western EU, though it's a Japan-based business. It seems a bit private as well. Since they offer quality products, it's similar to luxury brands—you have to look closely to find them.
the only major keyboard I see available here is priced at $995 (USD 667), which seems out of place. I can locate models for about $200, which feels more sensible.
they could be decent keyboards, but I don't believe any keyboard is worth that price unless it includes premium materials. Or there are individual displays for each key, like some of these -

I own a Majestouch 2 for $900, which seems excessive. On Amazon.com (US), both models are priced between €120 and €200. Going above that is not reasonable. A price of €200 is quite high, but it reflects durability built for long-term use under heavy demand. I've owned mine for several years, and it's remained functional even with daily use for 10-13 hours. I'm confident it will still be in good condition in 20 years.
The Majestouch 2 was designed with quality in mind. It isn't a niche product; you're paying €200 for a durable item crafted to last.
the keys fits well and are of great looking, they give the keyboard an 80s retro keyboard feel. like if you were owning a model M

. my only small complaint is about the drawnings (little cats and stuff) . they probably look great for a gaming keyboard, but not for a working keyboard. so i ordered another set from the same manufacturer just for these keys, in grey. i think they should do it.
so far so good. i took on the opportunity to turn my french azerty into an US qwerty, and IMO there's no photo. the qwerty is much better. but it's my opinion, others may prefer the azerty.. I'll eventually post a pic of the finished thing, when i receive the set
