Are you noticing signs that a part might fail soon?
Hey everyone, I've been experiencing some problems for a few months now. It mostly happens during loading tasks in games—like switching maps between matches or loading cutscenes—but not when playing normally. Only when something becomes very heavy does it start. My screen turns into a solid color, except for the last one that was being rendered, and everything else seems to work fine. I can still hear audio from Discord, but no one can hear me, and the keyboard responds just like before. After some time, the monitor displays "No signal" and goes dark. I often have to restart the PC.
I checked the Event Viewer, but it only showed an unexpected shutdown error—no other issues. Sometimes when launching programs or games, the audio might stutter slightly, though I’m not sure if that’s related. At first, I thought it might be a GPU problem, but after looking up online, I found mixed opinions. I’ve tried updating GPU drivers, reseating the card, cleaning PCIe ports, doing a full PC clean, and even using different ports. Temperatures stayed under 78°C, and CPU temps never exceeded 60°C. I ran a benchmark app for four hours without any crashes.
I haven’t managed to reproduce the issue consistently, but it seems to happen randomly during game loading. Some people suggested it could be due to a damaged PSU, which makes sense since my surge protector outlet isn’t protecting and is running in "unsafe" mode. But I’m not sure if that’s the case. I’d appreciate advice from more experienced users before making any purchases. I plan to replace my surge protector this week and might need a new PSU or something else.
Here are my specs for reference:
- CPU: i5-9600KF (no overclocking)
- RAM: 32GB at 2666MHz
- GPU: RTX 2060 (factory settings)
- PSU: 600W (FSP HYPER M 600W)
FSP HYPER M 600W est un appareil puissant pour diverses applications.
Do you have any HDDs or SSDs? You could also monitor GPU temperatures using HWinfo64 during games.
I have 2 SSDs - One 120GB system one, and 500GB one with games. Then I have 1TB HDD which I use just for random documents, apps etc. I ran the chkdsc command on all drives and it hasn't reported any issues. For the temps - I've been checking it few times now, it never exceeds 78°C under max load. But it mostly stays between 60-70°C while gaming so I don't think that's an issue
You're considering the Corsair RMx Series RM750x - 750W. Reviews suggest it's a solid choice and probably improves upon your existing setup. It seems like a worthwhile purchase unless you have specific needs not met here.
I’m placing the order for a replacement PSU. If the problem persists, I’ll create a new forum thread to address it again. Thanks for your assistance.
